CWS The Battle of Cold Harbor
Part of the National Park Civil War Series. The Battle of Cold Harbor ended in Confederate victory after less than two weeks of battle. Confederate and Union troops met by June 1, forming lines between Bethesda Church and the Chickahominy River. The assaults went back and forth, forcing both armies to lose many good soldiers. Ultimately resulting in over 15,000 casualties, this bloody battle ended when Grant moved his armies towards Petersburg in hopes of another victory.
