Fort Loudoun, which was built between 1756 and 1757, was a British fort constructed to help the English expand beyond the Appalachian chain. The fort was famously the site of a Cherokee siege.
This pin depicts two British redcoats and a Cherokee man standing with the Cherokee pointing in the distance, perhaps to a suitable area to grow crops or trap for animals. This pin represents the early positive relationship the British and Cherokee had before the month’s long siege.
