Belonging to the coastlines of two states—Mississippi and Florida—Gulf Islands National Seashore spans 160 miles in the Gulf of Mexico. Don't let the fact that it consists of islands fool you: There is plenty to do in this park, not the least of which is hiking. Between the Mississippi and Florida districts of the islands, there are some 37 miles of hiking trails waiting to be explored. Treading these maritime trails provides opportunities to learn about the diverse wildlife on the islands.
So make sure to bring your hiking stick with you on your next trip to this national seashore—and along with it, this beautifully illustrated hiking medallion depicting a peaceful beach scene on the Gulf Islands.
