The Shiloh National Military Park in Tennessee preserves the history of what was one of the Civil War's bloodiest battles—the Battle of Shiloh—which resulted in some 23,000 casualties on both sides. After the battle, the nearby city of Corinth, Mississippi, became a hotly contested location and saw two different battles fought to gain possession of it.
Part of the Shiloh National Military Park, the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center exists to educate the public about those two battles. Appearing on this hiking stick medallion is the name of the Interpretive Center along with a bas-relief illustration of marching Civil War soldiers. With that kind of inspiration, what more do you need to make you want to break out your hiking stick, attach this medal to it, and hit the trails?
