When United Airlines Flight 93 departed Newark, New Jersey, on the morning of September 11, 2001, it was a normal flight like any other. That soon changed, however, when terrorists hijacked the aircraft and rerouted it toward Washington, D.C., presumably to attack the capital in the same manner as the Pentagon and the World Trade Center that day. Another unusual thing happened that morning, though: The passengers valiantly fought back, charging the hijackers. The result was bittersweet: The plane crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, thus stopping the terrorist attack from happening, but everyone on board was killed.
Presented in red, white and blue, and with the number 93 encircled by 40 stars—one for each of the passengers and crew who died in the crash—this oval magnet is a truly patriotic way to honor the memories of the people who made the ultimate sacrifice that day.
