Biscayne National Park Pin

The word trail brings to mind dirt paths meandering through green forests or desert environments. Not so at Biscayne National Park, where you can experience the only maritime trail in the National Park Service—the Maritime Heritage Trail. Circulate by boat through a series of buoys that mark the locations of six sunken vessels of varying ages, sizes and types, and then dive beneath the waves to get a close look at the wrecks.

That's just one of the things to do at this southern Florida park, which consists of 172,000 acres of coral reef tracts, a mangrove forest, ocean waters, four ecosystems—and a whole lot to do!
