On the morning of September 17, 1862, the Dunker Church – a structure made for worship and peace – was surrounded by an intense battle between the Union and Confederacy. Towards the end of the battle, the church was used as a temporary station for medical aid and the building itself was riddled with bullet marks and damages to the walls and roof. Later on, repairs were made and now this historical site is open to the public at the Antietam National Battlefield. If you enjoyed your visit to the Dunker Church at Antietam, get this collectible magnet with an illustration of the church to commemorate the experience!
