National Woman's Party Sash

Alice Paul founded the National Woman's Party in 1916 as a lobbying organization to promote women's suffrage. During suffrage marches and other events, women wore sashes and carried banners with this purple, white, and orange-gold stripe pattern. This satin sash is a replica of what women wore when they fought to secure their right to vote through the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
