The battle for Missouri was headed by Brigadier General Samuel Curtis on the Union side and Major General Earl Van Dorn on the Confederate side. When Brig. Gen. Curtis was appointed to the Federal southwestern District of Missouri on Christmas Day, 1861, his main goal was to get the Confederates out of Missouri. By mid-February, Curtis and his men had pushed the Confederate Army into Arkansas. At was at this time that Maj. Gen. Van Dorn took control of the Confederate troops and squared off against Curtis and the Union Army at Pea Ridge.

This 30-minute film, shot on the actual battlefield at Pea Ridge, depicts the battle between the Confederates and the Union. Re-enactors were used to create the stories of these ordinary soldiers in an extraordinary battle. Watch this DVD and experience what the soldiers endured during those two grueling days.
