This vintage one-of-a-kind travel poster for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was recreated from a black and white negative of the original found in Harper's Ferry, VA. These travel posters were created during the 1930s as part of FDR's Depression-era Works Progress Administration.
This screen printed poster shows a view of the Great Smokies, looming impressively in the background, lit up in orange and yellow. The roadway in the foreground invokes the idea of an extended invitation.
