Ford's Theatre National Historic Site Magnet

Item#: 337053

After President Lincoln’s mortal wounding at Ford’s Theatre, and death at the nearby Peterson House, the federal government quickly purchased Ford’s Theatre with the intention that it never be used for public amusement. In 1933, the National Park Service acquired Peterson House and both locations became The Ford Theatre National Historic Site.

The photo on this magnet shows the front of the restored Ford’s Theatre, as it looks today. Ironically, against the initial intention, plays are now regularly performed there. Despite that, the site’s main mission is to foster further understanding of the historical events that occurred there.

Your purchase of this magnet helps to support that mission!
