Stones River Cannon Patch

Item#: 344318

Civilians of Tennessee were as divided as the nation’s boundaries during the Civil War. As if to reflect the contrasting views, Tennessee’s natural environment personified the conflict. Her uncultivated forests, cedar glades, natural springs, and the limestone rock formation named "Slaughter Pen," decimated soldiers as much as their opposing gunfire.

Our collectible Stones River Patch expresses the differing political views of the region with its red and black, Tennessee shape. At the top a cannon represents the finale of the three day battle fought in Murfreesboro. A white Ribbon reading "Stones River" flows over "National Battlefield Murfreesboro, TN." Part of the Civil War Collection, our Stones River Cannon Patch commemorates the soldiers who lost their lives in Hell’s Half Acre, entrenched in war with nature as much as they were with former countrymen.
