Thomas Stone was a plantation owner, lawyer, and one of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence; from 1779 to 1785 he served in the Maryland senate, but gave up politics and law to devote time to his family. A devoted and loving husband, he died only four months apart from his wife—reportedly of a "broken heart."
Celebrate Stone's foresight and dedication to his new country with this Fine Porcelain Ornament. A section of John Trumbull's famous The Declaration of Independence, which depicts the signing and is currently hanging in the U.S. Capitol, is reproduced on this ornament. Surrounded by a gold border and a unique ribbed outline, this ornament is perfect for the holidays or anytime.
