Great Smoky Mountains National Park Pin
Officially dedicated in 1940 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Great Smoky Mountains National Park preserves a rich cultural tapestry of Southern Appalachian history as well as immense biological diversity. Within the parks 522,000 acres, elevations range from 875 to 6,643 feet and provide habitat for over 17,000 documented species; scientists believe an additional 30,000-80,000 species may live here.
