During the 17th century, Colonial American wine bottles with attached handles went into decline never to be seen again. Modeled after a Jamestown artifact dating back to 1650-1685 Jamestown, Virginia ours is crafted with natural glass so it bears glasses' green color as did Colonial glass of the era. Crafted on the robust belly is an ornate seal identical to the original artifact’s displayed at the Jamestown Visitor Center Museum.

Crafted just a few yards from where Colonial settlers’ crafted hand blown wine decanters, our decanter from the Reproduction Collection celebrates the artistry preserved at Jamestown Glasshouse.

Great place to visit. The glassmakers are true artists. I have the cobalt blue wine container sitting on the shelf now. A great reminder of the visit to Jamestown.

This decanter is beautiful, historic, and functional. The historicity of the item goes without saying. While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the smooth lines and excellent craftsmanship of this one-of-a-kind piece is remarkable. As for its usefulness, I am trusting it with my 1963 Port Wine and it is working fine The only downside is that there is no stopper and the size of the opening is not standard so I had to craft my own cork to fit.
