Monocacy National Battlefield

Monocacy National Battlefield in Maryland preserves 1,647 acres of rolling hills along the Monocacy River where, on July 9, 1864, Union and Confederate soldiers collided in what is considered “The Battle That Saved Washington.” Visitors can explore the hiking trails and significant sites such as Worthington House and Gambrill Mill.
