ANP Fort Pulaski National Monument Pin
Fort Pulaski, at the mouth of the Savannah River in Georgia, was part of an extensive chain of coastal forts built to protect the United States from foreign invasion.
During the American Civil, Union forces participated in an 112-day siege of the fort, ending in a 30 hour artillery bombardment and Confederate surrender. The newly developed rifled artillery singled the obsolescence of coastal defense forts.
This ANP Collector's Series pin represents the momentous technological advances and change in battlefield tactics that occurred during the Civil War and commemorates the battle and the Fort itself.
