De Soto National Memorial Round Pin
De Soto National Memorial commemorates the four-year expedition of Hernando De Soto that began in May 1539 on the shores of Tampa Bay. This important moment of American history came at a cost for De Soto’s 700 fellow explorers, and especially for the Native American Tribes, who were met with warfare and disease. Today, the park is an important site in which visitors can learn, through artifacts and demonstrations, about the significance of De Soto’s expedition to American history.
