This Piece is a Historical Reproduction
Our Green Glass Onion Bottle is modeled after a historical artifact discovered in Jamestown, Virginia dating back to anywhere between 1680 and 1730. The bottle’s design was an answer to tavern owners seeking a bottle less prone to breakage compared to earlier glass bottle. Featuring a bulbous, onion shaped body, from which its name is derived; this bottle has a broad base and short neck, providing much needed stability.
Individually hand blown, our Green Glass Onion Bottle holds more than just wine and spirits – but also historical Colonial accuracy as it green, the natural of glass. Search our Jamestown Glasshouse catalogue for other Colonial glassware and glass art for other kitchenware and decorative items for your counter or tabletop!
