I love the look of this medallion - classic and unique at the same time. This medallion is a nice size - maybe a little smaller than the average medallion, so it doesn't take up too much room on your hiking stick.Medallion has a back adhesive with good stickiness and comes with three nails. Tap the nails slowly...even when you think you can start hitting a little harder, still tap slowly. I seem to always have one nail go awry. I haven't gone on any hikes since putting the medallion on my stick (COVID-19), so I can't attest to whether the paint chips easily or not. Overall, it seems to do just what a medallion should do - attach to a hiking stick fairly easily and look good.
